"I think sex is overrated
So is always getting wasted
Designer drugs and dead end jobs
And classic rock is so outdated
I'm so sick of therapy
And all the things it's done to me
How can I be satisfied?
When everything is overrated"

Three main Popular Deviantions

Fri Aug 18, 2006, 8:53 AM
Ever notice there are exactly three different types of popular deviations.

1) The Complicated Picture. There is so much detail and color that you can't help but pee on yourself. You sit there, admire it and think "HOW THE FUCK DID THE PERSON EVEN START TO THINK OF IT?". Then you go back to your gallery and see how dull it is. Int he picture you see colors you never seen before, then you go into like a .90 second drug trip. Then Fav it and continue to Kiss the artist's ass.

2) The incredible simple one.
Its so simple you ignore it. but its popular because its a cliche everyone seems to like POTC, or Kingdom Hearts. The Simple ones are also flash animations. In rare cases its a poorly drawn pic and wonder how it got there.

3) The Photograph

Now there are sub-catergories for Photos:
a) The emo one.
b) Random one. Its something you would have never though of.
c) Horror in a cool way
d) Something bloody.
e) a cute little animal

Comics suck nowadays.

I hate wasting my money on comics. AT one point i really enjoyed them. TO me, comics is the midpoint between cartooning and reading a book. But comics now is just false advertisting. The only reason why most comics make money is because of the movies. How is it false advertisting? Well take "The Runaways". The cover art is amazing, if i become good enough i want the guy who does the covers to do covers for me. In fact, his art actually makes the comic worth reading. Within reading the 1st part, im already bored. I was turned off with the token black afro person, and cheap story lines. Don't get me wrong, the artist who does the cover is different then the artist who does the inside. Who ever is signed to do inside art, should slow down a bit. I've noticed alot of spiderman comics have HORRIBLE inside art. Aunt may looked like a dead person in one. i know, i know you want your comics out fast as possible, but you marvel/DC folk are making me blind. It makes me think i have a chance in the comic world, NOT GOOD! Im not asking to make every panel perfect, but when batman starts look cross-eyed, something is wrong.

Then there are people who DO take their time and the inside are is as amazing as the cover. SO whats wrong here again? oh right the PLOT! Can you comic writers graduate from Stan Lee days. Stan lee did his thing and now put some spice into it. If your going to make a teenage comic, make is relatable. Not all teens are popular, white, and date preppy boys like the Mary Jane comics. And if they are, they don't read comics. Also stay away from predictable, elementry, unrealistic plots. The comics is gaining so much attention from the movies, but doesn't have anything to support.

I wish i had the talent in comic art as some people do. Even tho i personally hate the large boob, steryod taken, characters they come up with. Back to realism. Would it hurt to draw a girl "on the plus size". I hate reading comics with girls that are all thin. I feel more pressure from comics than i do magazines. Why? because i want to be in the comic business, but i don't want to be forced to draw perfect people, Since im not "perfect" myself. "Why don't you make a comic yourself?" Like i said, if my drawing was developed enough. Im thinking of getting into graphic novels, rather than those monthly comics. Graphic Novels are sold at books stores, its hard to find a comic store somewhere. Also i can spend time on it. Back to the question my imaginary friend said, My art is not good enough. I would need an inker and a colorist. One look at my profolio and they'll say next. It would take a long time. But not too long i hope. I want to change the comic world. Manga doesn't have to be the only worth wasting your money on comic.
